Rainier Cherries on the Road
After driving by 5 cherry stands, would could not let the 6th one pass us by.
Rainier cherries have an altogether unique yet striking and contrasting color, texture, and flavor. Most of us have tried the red varieties like Red Coral, Chelan, or Tulare, but Rainier cherries lend a rounded acidity, high sugar, and complex flavor that changes with almost every blushing yellow cherry. We snacked on the basket of cherries all the way up to Oregon. They were the perfect road trip snack.
